To say the Porsche 911 lineup is broad and complicated only scratches the surface of the "something for everyone" parade of sub-models the Stuttgart autohaus offers. From the plain old laser-sharp Carrera S to the mind-bendingly quick 911 Turbo S, Porsche continues to offer a fascinating range of its legendary classic.

What is it?

New for 2015 comes the 911 GTS, which in many purists' minds lands in that perfect Goldilocks sweet spot when it comes to combining performance and drivability. 

What's new or changed?

When looking at the qualifiers for the perfect 911 countless enthusiasts will still agree that a manual transmission is a must. With Porsche recently announcing that both the GT3 and Turbo will only come with a twin-clutch PDK gearbox, this now makes the GTS the fastest, most powerful 911 available with a conventional manual box. The PDK-equipped car runs a 0-to-60 sprint in under four seconds, and the manual version only adds another fraction. The manual gearbox car may be a touch slower, but it is also the one capable of clawing its way up to 190 miles per hour. In terms of power, the GTS ups the game slightly over the Carrera S, delivering 430 horsepower at a wailing 7,500 RPM. GTS drivers will enjoy spooling the flat-six into its upper RPM range, as it comes equipped with a sport-tuned exhaust system from the factory.

Can I buy it?

If you have at least $115,195, you can. For 2015 the Porsche 911 GTS will be offered in both Coupe and Convertible forms with either rear or all-wheel drive. Fuel economy statistics for these models have yet to be listed prior to their recent on-sale date.
