The wait is finally over.
Dodge is sending out its highly anticipated 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat across the United States after the automaker and SRT received more than 4,500 order for the new vehicle in first five days of availability last September.
The 707-hp muscle cars are learning the Brampton Assembly plant where they were put together and making their way to dealerships and customers across the country.
"The introduction of the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has ignited the general market's interest in the muscle car segment," said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge and SRT brands according to a company press release.
The new Challenger SRT Hellcat is the fastest muscle vehicle ever with a National Hot Rod Association-certified 1/4-mile elapsed time of just 11.2 seconds at speeds of 125 mph equipped with stock Pirelli P275/40ZR20 P Zero tires.
With drag radials, the 1/4-mile run dropped to 10.8 seconds at 126 mph, according to the automaker.
It's not just the fastest car ever, it's the most powerful, thanks to the Challenger SRT's HEMI Hellcat, which provides an unprecedented 707 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 6.2-liter V-8 is the first factory-built supercharged HEMI ever, according to Dodge.
"The reaction from our customers and the general public has been beyond even our positive expectations, and we will work to build a Challenger Hellcat for every customer who wants one," said Kuniskis.
When equipped with Chrysler's TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, the Challenger SRT Hellcat earned a highway fuel-economy rating of 22 miles per gallon (mpg) from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The new vehicle earned an EPA highway rating of 21 mpg when equipped with the new-for-2015 six-speed manual transmission.
If all that wasn't good enough, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has also been re-engineered and redesigned to come with the new performance-enhancing technologies inside and out. Technologies include the new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission or six-speed manual and an all-new interior, according to the release.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is available for a U.S. Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of $59,995, not including the $995 destination fee.
