Toyota has announced a recall that affects four vehicles from the 2014 model year that may experience loss of steering control.

The recall for 5,650 cars in the U.S. includes select 2014 Toyota Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon and Avalon Hybrid vehicles that need suspension repairs, Edmunds.com reported.

The automaker is not aware of any crashes, injuries or deaths connected with the recall.

"In the involved vehicles, the left front suspension lower arm may have an improperly manufactured bolt hole where it connects to the ball joint," Toyota described the issue. "This could affect bolt clamping force."

Going over various road surfaces on a normal drive could cause the suspension lower arm to separate from the ball joint, according to the automaker.

"Separation of the lower arm can cause a loss of steering control," Toyota said in a news release.

The recall will involve replacing the left front lower suspension arm with a new one.

Toyota will be contacting owners by mail. In the meantime, Edmunds recommends that affected owners get in touch with their dealership for a service appointment.
