Series 2 of the Apple Watch is still fairly new having been released only in September of last year. However, enthusiasts are very much excited for a Series 3 with the excitement fueling speculations on what the next generation Apple smartwatch will bring to the table.
Apple Watch Series 3 news, updates, and information. Although global sales of smartwatches and other wearable gadgets are in a slump now, tech enthusiasts are still excited to see what is coming to them. Fans of Apple's smartwatch are still very much interested in a third generation smartwatch from the company. This is most likely what to expect to support CEO Tim Cook's statement that the device would continue to see strong adoption rates.
Speculations are saying that the Apple Watch Series 3 will come out in September of this year. A September release is most likely given that the Series 2 was released also during the same month the previous year. However, it should be noted that the gap between the original smartwatch and the Series 2 was more than a year. If the Series 3 doesn't come out this year, fans could see it released early in 2018.
According to a DigiTimes article, the Series 3 could most likely feature a glass-film touch display moving away from touch-on-lens display entirely. There are speculations that the new touch panels for the smartwatch will be shipped sometime during the second half of 2017 which would be just in time for a September release.
Not too long ago, Apple head of design Jony Ive was asked if the company had plans to change the smartwatch's square-like design to a round one. Ive answered, "When a huge part of the function is list, a circle just doesn't make any sense." Fans should therefore still see the same design on the Series 3. It's also been made known that the company had filed for a patent which is described to show a modular system of accessories in the form of watch joints. This means that the smartwatch could sport picture links for the battery power, connectivity, camera functions, biometric sensors, and speakers.
There are more speculations surrounding the device. It is always best to take them in with a grain salt as there has been no official word yet from Apple on the Series 3.
