Toyota has announced new UK prices for the Prius Plug-in Hybrid EV. The Japanese car manufacturer has lowered the prices of the entire line by £3,200 which roughly equal to around US$3,983.
Toyota announces lowered UK prices for the Prius PHEV. The car company, in a bid to keep its plug-in hybrid car competitive in the UK market, has slashed the prices of its entire line. The price of each Prius PHEV trim has been slashed by £3,200.
Interested buyers are now able to get the Business Edition Plus entry-level trim for the OTR price of £31,695. Entry-level trim comes with a head-up display, infotainment system with a standard 8.0-inch display, reversing camera, satellite navigation, DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and the Safety Sense package. It also features automatic headlights and 15-inch wheels. The Business Edition Plus with a solar roof, on the other hand, has an OTR price of £33,195.
The Toyota Prius PHEV Excel trim now carries an OTR price of £33,895. It has everything the Business Edition Plus has plus park assist, rain-sensing wipers, parking sensors, a premium JBL sound system, leather upholstery, and voice recognition control.
All of the trim levels are eligible for a £2,500 Government incentive, which is a plug-in vehicle grant scheme to entice buyers to go for more eco-friendly cars. This incentive brings the prices of the Business Edition Plus, Business Edition plus with a solar roof, and the Excel trims down to £29,195, £30,695, and £31,395 respectively.
The vehicle runs on a 1.8-liter petrol engine and electric motor with an 8.8kWh battery pack. The combined powertrain offers 120 horsepower. The battery pack takes 3 hours to charge with a regular household socket. In addition, it has a mile range of 50 kilometers on a single charge. Fuel-economy-wise, The Prius PHEV returns an average of 282 to 283 miles per gallon and 22 grams per kilometer of CO2 emissions.
